Library Building Project Meeting

Our Community Planning Committee met four times since January 2017, coming up with options A and B for our future library.  At the May 13, 2017 Library Board meeting, the Board voted to move forward with Option B. 

We are now actively engaged in the public meetings process, and hope you can join us at an upcoming meeting to discuss your thoughts about the Library Building Project.

Toys for Tots

In cooperation with the Marine Corps Reserves, Lindenhurst Memorial Library is an official community drop-off point for the Toys for Tots program. Please show your support for this worthwhile program by bringing in a NEW unwrapped toy and placing it the library’s collection receptacle.

St. Francis Hospital Community: Outreach Free Screenings & Flu Vaccine

St. Francis Hospital will visit the library to offer free flu vaccines and free health screenings that include a brief cardiac history, blood pressure and a simple blood test for cholesterol and diabetes for adults 18 and older. No appointment is required. For more information call the Outreach Department at 516-629-2013.

Free Breast Cancer Screening -Sponsored by Senator Phil Boyle

According to the American Cancer Society, this year approximately 252,710 cases of invasive Breast Cancer will be diagnosed in women throughout the United States. This FREE Breast Cancer screening is for women, 40 years and older, who have not had a mammogram within the last year.
• All insurance plans accepted
• Co-payments and deductibles will be waived
• Screenings are free for uninsured women 40 and older

NARCAN Training

Suffolk County Police Commissioner Timothy Sini will be at the library to introduce this NARCAN Training program in an effort to prevent opioid-related deaths. You must register in advance in order to receive a NARCAN kit. Register for this program in person, by phone or ONLINE!

Shredding Day @ LML

Don’t be a victim of identity or information theft. Come to the library for our first shredding event. A Shred Away Inc. is an on-site document shredding company that will protect your information and the environment. You may bring up to 3 boxes or bags. No magazines, newspapers, cardboard or plastic will be accepted. No registration.

Stop by the farmer’s market or the library to donate non-perishable fooditems for Long Island Cares to distribute to our neighbors in need. The top 10 most needed items are low-fat, boxed & non-refrigerated milk; white rice; canned vegetables & fruit; cooking oil;cereals; pasta; tomato sauce; canned meat; poultry; or fish; peanut butter; jelly, jam, or spreadable fruit. No glass jars, please. Thank you!
