Online Program Registration

With the introduction of online program registration: Each child will be required to present a Lindenhurst Memorial Library card in order to register for a Children's Program. A child is eligible for a Library card at birth. Please visit the Circulation Desk to register your child for a Library card.

 


SPRING STORY TIME

April 4 - May 24

On My Own Story Time*
Thursday 10:30 am.
Ages 3 1/2 to Pre-kindergarten.
Listen to stories without a parent. Finger rhymes and a craft, too!


Mother Goose Time*
Wednesday 9:30 am
OR 
Thursday at 11:30 am.
Rhymes, songs, and finger games for babies from birth to 27 months, accompanied by an adult caregiver.


Tiny Tots Story Time*
Wednesday 10:30 am
OR 
Thursday 9:30 am.
An interactive story time for children ages 27 months to 3.5 years, accompanied by an adult caregiver. Listen to stories and songs and make a craft.

Summer Story Time

July 11 - August 1, 2012

 Mother Goose Time
9:30 am
Babies and toddlers up to 35 months old, with an adult.
Encourage language development with songs, rhymes, and finger games.  The program ends with an informal playtime to facilitate social interaction.
No advance registration is needed.  Check in at the librarian’s desk on arrival.

Summer Story Time
11 am
Ages 2 ½ to PreK, with an adult.

Come to the library for stories and a project.  The program ends with an informal play time. 
No advance registration is needed.  Check in at the librarian’s desk on arrival.

Children, ages 3 to 7 years, and their adult caregivers. Come listen to stories, sing songs, and have fun!

Parent Child Workshop
Family  

April 17, 2012 – May 8, 2012
Tuesdays, 10 am -11 am
Ages 18 months – 36 months with an adult. 


In this 4 week series, parent and toddler will enjoy playing with others, making a simple project, and participating in Circle Time.  A facilitator will be available to talk to parents informally about child-raising concerns.  Topics to be covered include child development, nutrition, music, and creative play.

Registration begins April 3, 2012 for the April/May session.
Limit:  One session per child.

Ages 2—PreK, with an adult.

Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket and join the children’s
librarians for stories, games, and play!  Meet in the library yard behind the white fence.

Summer Reading Club
June 18 - August 9, 2012
Preschoolers and Grades K—4 (completed).

Come to the library beginning June 18  to pick up your folder. Read (or listen) to books at home and list each title in your folder.  Come to the library once per week to get a prize and a sticker.  Everyone who makes four visits will receive a ticket to the I Must Be Dreaming @ the Library show presented by PetraPuppets, a completion certificate, and be entered in a super prize drawing.

Come along and capture the fun with local author Michelle Zimmerman as she reads her children’s book, Can’t Catch a Butterfly.  The butterfly fun continues as she leads in an indoor butterfly hunt, butterfly games and songs, and a simple craft.  Preschoolers receive a sticker and a butterfly coloring sheet to take home.

Join us in celebrating one of nighttime’s singing animals—crickets.  Read “The Little Cricket”, and meet tiny crickets up close!  Learn about their body parts, try your own sound experiments to learn how crickets make sound, and design your own cricket costume!  Facilitated by an educator from the Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum.

Join Great South Bay Dance for a creative movement dance class that is fun, active, and educational. Class includes movement games that incorporate counting, colors, shapes, and imagination as well as basic ballet, and tumbling on mats.  Each class ends with a dance storybook read aloud.
