Online Program Registration

ATTENTION PARENTS! With the introduction of online program registration: Each child will be required to present a Lindenhurst Memorial Library card in order to register for a Children's Program. A child is eligible for a Library card at birth. Please visit the Circulation Desk to register your child for a Library card.

Children, ages 3 to 6 years, and their adult caregivers. Come listen to stories, sing songs, and have fun!
No advance registration required.

Music 'n Movement
Musical Child Saturday, October 2, 2010
10 am Ages 2-PreK, with an adult

Visit the zoo, under the sea, the jungle and more in this creative movement class. Retired teacher Roberta Halpern will lead the class in an imaginary musical journey around the world.
Registration begins Friday, September 17, 2010.


Spooky Tunes Halloween Show

Join Anna E. Kravis for lots of spooky Halloween fun! Come in costume (if you wish) and enjoy spooky stories, songs, and puppets!
Registration begins Wednesday, October 13, 2010.

Activity Hour
Child at Play 10 - 11 am
Tuesdays, October 26, November 9,16, & 23

Free play and social interaction for preschoolers and parents. The hour will conclude with a Circle Time led by a librarian.
No advance registration is needed. Space is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 9:30.

EARLY LITERACY STATION
Early Literary Station
The children's room has acquired a new educational computer for young children to use while being supervised by an adult. The computer contains over 30 educational games to be enjoyed by children ages 3 to 10.
Early Literary Station Children under age 8 must have an adult with them. Earbuds or a headset are required for use. The library sells earbuds for $4 each, or users may bring their own. Patrons may sign up for 30 minute sessions at the Children's Room Librarian's desk. Use is first-come, first-serve and time on the computer may not be reserved in advanced.


Grandparents' Picnic

Ages 3 and up, with grandparent(s), (parents welcome too!)
Whose grandparents are the greatest? Calling all grandchildren with a grandparent(s) and a family member to come and find out at our library picnic! Together we will celebrate grandparents by sharing in a few words your story and why you think your grandparent(s) are the best ever! Make a picture card saying so. Bring lunch, a picnic blanket, and chairs (optional) and meet in the library yard behind the white fence. Dessert, lemonade, and ice tea will be served. Rain moves the fun indoors.

Parent Child Workshop

Tuesdays, September 14 - October 12, 2010
Ages 18-35 months, with an adult.
In this 5-week series, parent and toddler enjoy playing with others, and have an opportunity to speak with a facilitator on a variety of child raising issues. Topics will include child development, nutrition, creative play, and music.
Registration begins Tuesday, August 31, 2010.

Infant and Child CPR and Chocking Workshop
Saturday, November 20, 2010
10 am - 1pm

Lori Green, a Registered Nurse will lead a 3 hour workshop on how to successfully perform CPR and other various lifesaving techniques on infants and children. Certificates will be awarded for completing this workshop. Cost $ 25 per person.
Registration starts on Mon. Wednesday, November 1, 2010 and is limited to Lindenhurst residents only.
