Lindenhurst Memorial Library Museum Pass FAQs

How do I reserve a Museum Pass?

Reservations may be made in person, online (below) or by calling us at 631-957-7755 (Reference Desk). When reserving a museum pass you are selecting a pick up date. Please note, our museum passes are for lindenhurst library cardholders only. Patrons need a valid, unexpired, adult library card with no excessive fines. Patrons must bring their library card with them to the museum.

How often may I reserve a Museum Pass?

No more than one pass may be borrowed at a time. No more than two passes can be booked per month. Two “no shows” within a 60-day block of time will block users from making a reservation.

How long can I keep the Museum Pass?

You may checkout your museum pass (on the library card that you used to reserve the pass) at the Circulation Desk on your pickup date. The pass is returned to the Circulation Desk by one hour before closing time on the third day. Do not return the pass in the book drop.

How many people does each pass admit?

Each museum is different.

  • American Airpower Museum - 2 adults, 2 children.
  • Brooklyn Botanic Garden - 2 adults, unlimited number of children under 16 years of age
  • Children's Museum of Manhattan - Each pass admits up to 4 people
  • Cradle of Aviation – 2 adults, 2 children who are 18 years and younger
  • Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum of NY - 4 adults, children under 12 are always free.
  • Long Island Children’s Museum – 2 adults, 2 children
  • Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum – 2 adults, 4 children under 18 years of age
  • USS Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum – 6 people
  • Whaling Museum & Education Center - 6 individuals who live in one household.

What if I return the Museum Pass Late?

If you return the pass late a $10 per day late fee, will be attached to your record. When a pass isn’t returned on time, requiring the library to pay entry fees for the next patron with a reservation, you will have these entrance fees attached to his/her record.

What if I lose the Museum Pass?

The full replacement price of the pass will be charged if it is lost.

How do I cancel my reservation?

Call the Reference desk at 631-957-7755 to cancel your reservation.

What happens if a museum is closed on the date of my reservation?

The Library makes every effort to verify dates that the museums are open; however, it's the patron's responsibility to check with the museum for any changes/updates.
